Since its inception in 2000, the biennial Pacific International Maritime Exposition has continued to grow. The number of commercial maritime and naval defence industry participants from around the world has grown substantially.

As the only comprehensive international exhibition of its kind in the Asia Pacific region, PACIFIC2015 provided the ideal showcase for commercial maritime and naval defence industries to promote their capabilities to decision makers from around the world.

AAL recently exhibited the Diver Signature Evaluation System (DSES) at IDEX 2015 in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

DSES is a portable system that uses acoustic, pressure and magnetic sensors mounted in a mine shape to collect data on the signature emitted by Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) divers and their equipment.  The software allows the setting of mine thresholds based on threat mine data and the operator console displays real time sensor recorded levels and mine status.  Data can be saved for post mission analysis and underwater camera footage can be viewed in real time or recorded.  The mine threats present in the region mean that DSES would be a valuable addition to a nation's mine hunting and sweeping capability.

The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) held in late February is one of the world's leading joint defence exhibitions, and the largest in the Middle East and Africa.  Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, IDEX is a showcase for the latest technology, insight and innovation in the defence industry.  It includes NAVDEX - the region's largest naval defence and maritime security exhibition.
