Workboat Services

AAL offers charter workboat services for a multitude of taskings. AAL has a variety of vessels available dependant on the tasking requirements with the prime vessels being Macy Gray and Star Keys.

AAL already have a proven track record with the Royal New Zealand Navy conducting target-towing operations, personnel transfers, safety vessel operations, boarding operations, equipment trials and operations.

Historically the vessels have been employed by the Department of Conservation (DoC), Ministry of Fisheries (MFish), National Rescue Co-ordination Centre (NRCC), Environment Bay of Plenty, Environment Waikato, University of Waikato, NIWA, Police and local Harbour Boards.

Charter services have undertaken a variety of tasks ranging from commercial diving operations to seismic research, harbour maintenance to deep water mooring services, pollution control (one Master has a pollution control ticket) to hydrographic survey, SAR operations to student thesis studies.

Both vessels exhibit excellent sea-keeping characteristics. The design has been specifically chosen to meet the demanding conditions experienced around the NZ coast.
